This is the most professional online I Ching divination.

Unlike other so-called I Ching services that are vague or operate randomly, our divinations are conducted in strict accordance with the principles of the I Ching.

You can use our electronic hexagram generation tool (please sincerely contemplate your question before casting). Alternatively, you can toss three coins yourself (the tails/text side represents Yin) and manually record the results. We will then analyze them for you.

We will provide you with the Judgment and Line Statements for both your original hexagram and your changing hexagram. We will also guide you on how to interpret this wisdom and highlight the specific parts that require your focus depending on your situation.

May the culture and wisdom of the I Ching be of help to you.

Step 1: Casting Your Hexagram

First, you need to generate a hexagram. There are two ways to do this:

  1. Choose Your Method:
  2. Focus on Your Question:
Before you begin, take a moment to quiet your mind. Concentrate fully and clearly formulate the question you wish to ask. Sincerity and focus are key to a meaningful reading.
  3. Generate the Hexagram:

Step 2: Understanding Your Result

Once you have your hexagram, you will see your Original Hexagram (the present situation) and potentially a Changing Hexagram (the future potential). The key to your reading lies in the number of "changing lines" you received.

Here is your guide to know exactly where to look.

Interpretation Guide: Where to Focus

If you have ZERO changing lines:

  • Meaning: The situation is stable and static.
  • Where to look: Read only the Judgment (or Hexagram Text) of the Original Hexagram. This describes your current situation as a whole.

If you have ONE changing line:

  • Meaning: This line is the most direct and crucial advice for your situation.
  • Where to look: Focus on the Line Statement for that single changing line. This is the heart of your reading. The Original Hexagram provides the context, and the Changing Hexagram shows the likely outcome if you follow the advice.

If you have TWO changing lines:

  • Meaning: The situation is in development, with two key aspects to consider.
  • Where to look: Read the Line Statements for both changing lines. The statement for the upper line is often considered the more significant or primary advice.

If you have THREE changing lines:

  • Meaning: The situation is complex and at a major turning point.
  • Where to look: Read the Judgment of the Original Hexagram (representing the present) and the Judgment of the Changing Hexagram (representing the future).

Step 2: Understanding Your Result

If you have FOUR changing lines:

  • Meaning: The situation is highly dynamic and approaching a resolution. The old condition is passing away.
  • Where to look: Focus only on the Judgment of the Changing Hexagram. This reveals the new reality that is emerging.

If you have FIVE changing lines:

  • Meaning: The situation has almost completely transformed. The new is taking over.
  • Where to look: Read the Judgment of the Changing Hexagram. You may also read the Line Statement of the one non-changing line for subtle advice or a description of what remains from the old situation.

If you have SIX changing lines:

  • Meaning: A total and complete transformation is occurring.
  • Where to look: Read only the Judgment of the Changing Hexagram. It represents an entirely new beginning. (Note: If the original hexagram is #1 Qian or #2 Kun, there are special interpretations for all-changing lines called "Use of Nines" or "Use of Sixes").
