Interpretation
This line signifies a crucial moment of readiness and perfect timing. The need for a fundamental change (revolution) has been recognized, and the necessary preparations are complete. The "ji day" (己日) is not just any day; it symbolizes the exact, opportune moment when internal readiness aligns with external circumstances. This line is Yin, in a central position in the lower trigram, and it has a correct and powerful correspondence with the Yang ruler in the fifth place. This relationship is key: it means the proposed change has the support and sanction of a higher authority or a guiding principle. Because the preparations are thorough and the support is secured, moving forward is not only acceptable but highly auspicious. The action, when taken at this ripe moment, will be met with success and approval, and there will be no cause for regret or blame. It is the culmination of careful planning, not a rash or impulsive act.
Guidance for Action
Your desire for change is correct and well-founded, but timing is everything. Do not act impulsively. This is the final stage of preparation. Consolidate your resources, confirm your support from key allies or superiors, and ensure your plan is flawless. Patiently wait for the perfect moment to launch your initiative. When that moment arrives—and you will recognize it by a sense of inner certainty and favorable external signs—act decisively and with confidence. Your well-considered action will be supported and will lead to a positive and successful outcome. The key is to distinguish between hesitation and strategic patience. You are practicing the latter.
For Love & Relationships
A significant change is needed within your relationship or your love life. This could be the moment to deepen a commitment, resolve a long-standing conflict, or even end a partnership that is no longer viable. However, forcing the issue now would be a mistake. The line advises you to prepare internally, to become absolutely clear about your own feelings and desired outcome. Wait for the right moment to initiate "the talk." Because of the positive correspondence in this line, there is a strong indication that when you do act with clarity, sincerity, and good timing, your partner will be receptive. The change you bring about will be seen as excellent and will lead to a better future for all involved.
For Career & Business
You are on the verge of making a significant move in your career—proposing a major project, asking for a promotion, changing jobs, or initiating a reorganization. The groundwork has been laid, but this is not the time to act. Use this period to solidify support from your superiors and influential colleagues. Double-check your data, refine your presentation, and make sure your strategy is sound. When the organizational climate is right and you have the full backing of key decision-makers (your "line 5" authority), then make your move. Advancing at that precise moment will be met with approval and will bring you success and recognition.
For Financial Matters
You are contemplating a major financial revolution: a large investment, selling a significant asset, or a complete overhaul of your financial strategy. This line is a strong caution against acting on impulse. It is a time for due diligence and final preparations. Do your research, consult with trusted advisors, and wait for the ideal market conditions. The "ji day" represents the moment when your research, your resources, and the market opportunity all align perfectly. Acting at that specific time will be highly auspicious and profitable, and you will avoid losses or "blame." Patience now will lead to prosperity later.
